This novel technology developed by Plasma Waters comprises a plasma water sanitation system that treats water by converting a liquid stream into non-thermal plasma, which is an emerging technology for producing drinking water. The system has an efficacy to remove nearly 1 billion cholera bacteria per 100 mL in 15 seconds. It requires single phase 220 V electricity, which can be achieved using solar power. Plasma Waters has successfully implemented the system in schools in the Tiltil community in Chile, and can produce 5,000 L/day/unit of water.
