Elemental Water Makers from Holland presented a solar-powered Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to produce clean drinking water. Their innovative placement of the plant on an elevated hill helped in reducing the energy cost of operating the plant with savings equal to 63% compared to conventional RO. The plant, which has a daily production capacity of 12,500 litres of clean water, can run 24 hours a day and is estimated to reduce 25 tonnes of CO2 each year.
